This episode celebrates 100 episodes of the Tiaras Tears and Triumphs podcast. Not a bad effort for someone who is a recovering technophobe after experiencing many traumas with internet stalking and abuse. Technology didn't feel like a safe place for me to be, but I needed to lean into the thing that terrified me to help me heal from the wounds of my past.
Starting the Tiaras Tears and Triumphs podcast gave me the motivation and reason to dig deep and face my fears. And it has been the most rewarding thing I could have done. Although I created this podcast for you, it has been a huge catalyst for my own healing.
So it seemed right to focus on the message of hope that from little things big things grow, so never be ashamed of needing to start over.
And I invited someone really special to me to be a special guest on the show today, her name is Cindy. Cindy was the first person who made me feel whole, who made me feel important, who made me feel valued when my dignity, my self-esteem, my self-confidence and my self-worth lay in pieces around me because my life had hit rock bottom when I had to flee a second time from an abusive ex-partner.
She is a person of tremendous positive influence in my life that gave me the gift of empathy, support, and encouragement at the right time which helped me rise back up from feeling downtrodden, ashamed, and disillusioned.
She gave me the confidence to hold my head high, dry my tears from the pain of the past and stand tall as a woman of strength, resilience, and resourcefulness to be able to overcome life's adversities and triumph.
As someone who has worked in specialized family support services, Cindy has helped many women who have been impacted by abusive relationships in the most challenging times of their lives to put their safety first and keep their dignity intact when they are experiencing feelings of shame and embarrassment for needing to ask for help.
There are many women like Cindy who have the heart to help women impacted by abusive relationships. I hope that when you listen to Cindy you will understand that you should never be ashamed of needing to start over.
As many as one in four, or one in three women, depending on where you live has experienced some form of relationship abuse.
I was one of them.
They say we teach what we need to learn.
And breakthroughs to recover, renew and rebuild on the other side of an abusive relationship is what I needed to learn and I know other women just like me need to learn too.
